Aurrigo opens advanced manufacturing and engineering hubA leading international provider of autonomy software, fully autonomous vehicles and mobile robotics platforms has announced the opening of its new UK Hub facility, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth and manufacturing capability. Aurrigo International plc, which raised £14.1 million to support its global expansion at the end of last year, will shortly start production of its autonomous vehicles at a ‘state of the art’ facility on Power Park in Coventry. The new site measures 130,615ft, more than three-times the size of the firm’s current facility and will serve as its UK hub for advanced engineering, autonomous vehicle development, high-volume manufacturing and ongoing automotive activities.

This expansion directly supports the company’s recently announced international hub and licensing programme launch, which is accelerating its global commercialisation strategy by seeking local relationships, funding and manufacturing support in Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia and the USA. The latest investment will also support the delivery of the £6.28 million contract with Ultra Global for 25 autonomous guided vehicles, further demonstrating the importance of scaling manufacturing to meet increasing commercial demand.

Once operating at full capacity, Aurrigo believes the new facility will be capable of manufacturing over 500 autonomous vehicles every year, subject to customer demand. Professor David Keene, Aurrigo International plc’s CEO, said: “This new Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Centre marks an important milestone for our business and our unwavering commitment to the UK, delivering investment in autonomous technology. It significantly enhances our manufacturing and engineering capability, provides the capacity to scale in line with demand, and underpins our ambition to build a sustainable, capital-efficient platform for long-term growth.”

The premises has been secured with turnkey infrastructure already in place, including IT systems, fully fitted offices, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and manufacturing facilities, enabling rapid operational ramp-up. Importantly, it also gives Aurrigo space for an on-site autonomous vehicle test track, supporting in-house validation, customer demonstrations, and accelerated development cycles.

Significant step forward

Andrew Cornish, chairman of the board at Aurrigo, said: “This facility represents a significant step forward for Aurrigo as it continues to deliver on its stated growth strategy. It reflects disciplined investment following the recent fundraise and provides the operational headroom needed to scale efficiently, support existing programmes, and pursue further opportunities as the business develops.”

The relocation to Power Park places Aurrigo at the heart of the UK’s growing electrification and clean mobility ecosystem. Its Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Centre will be the nerve centre of the company’s international hub strategy, contributing its proprietary intellectual property, technical expertise, and operational knowhow in return for partners providing the required working capital and market access to accelerate product deployment regionally.

Aurrigo has already deployed its autonomous portfolio - Auto-DollyTug, Auto-Cargo, Auto-Shuttle and/or the Auto-SIM planning tool - across 12 airports globally, including Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, Schiphol, Zurich and Teesside in the UK.

Mr Keene concluded: “As part of this next phase, we are actively seeking strategic partners to support our continued international growth, accelerate production scale-up, and help bring our world class manufacturing facility to full operational capacity. We are really pleased to have secured a new home in Coventry, just a few miles from our existing site and, importantly, a place where we can create jobs for highly skilled people and the next generation of engineers and software specialists.”
