Nagel Technologies has strengthened its automation strategy after being named an Authorised Partner of robotics specialist
Stäubli, marking a further step in its push to deliver integrated manufacturing solutions.
The designation builds on a long-standing collaboration between the two companies and reflects Nagel’s decision to embed Stäubli robotics as a core component of its machine concepts.
The move is underpinned by continued investment in robotics, workforce training and the development of new automation applications across multiple industries.
Erkan Hodza, head of development at Nagel Technologies, explained: “The designation confirms our strategic direction and the trust-based collaboration of recent years. What matters most to us is delivering complete solutions to our customers, from the machine itself to perfectly integrated robotics.”
Robotics integration is already central to Nagel’s EcoHone series, where proprietary control systems are combined with Stäubli robots to deliver highly automated honing processes. These systems are capable of handling multiple workpiece variants autonomously, including part-specific tool and parameter changes.
This level of automation is designed to improve productivity and flexibility for manufacturers, allowing them to handle a wide range of components, smaller batch sizes and rapid changeovers without additional manual intervention. Nagel’s approach also emphasises in-house expertise, with the company responsible for both machine development and robotics.
Mr Hodza added: “Our customers benefit above all from speed and reliability in implementation. We understand the entire process and can make adjustments very quickly, this is a decisive competitive advantage.”
The company also carries out simulation work ahead of project launches, helping to identify potential issues early and reduce commissioning times. This end-to-end capability enables faster response in service situations and when adapting systems to new workpieces or production requirements.
Additionally, Nagel and Stäubli are jointly advancing further technological developments, including intelligent tool-changing systems and the use of force-control sensors to enhance machining precision. These solutions are being applied across a range of sectors, from automotive supply chains and tool manufacturing to consumer goods production, where high accuracy and flexibility are essential.
Both companies plan to expand their collaboration through to 2028, with a focus on industrialising new processes in honing, advanced tool preparation and freeform machining.
With more than 1,800 employees and operations across four continents, Nagel continues to invest in automation, robotics and advanced technologies to support evolving industrial demands.
