Salvagnini wins the Good Design Award with the L3.G4 fiber laser machine Salvagnini has been awarded the prestigious Good Design Award 2025 for its L3.G4 fibre laser machine, confirming once again the company’s commitment to innovation, performance, and industrial design excellence.

The Good Design Award, launched in 1950 by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, remains the oldest and most internationally recognised program for design innovation. This year’s evaluation saw submissions from leading manufacturers and design studios across more than 55 countries, with over 1,100 products selected for outstanding design, functionality, and sustainability.

The L3.G4, awarded in the Industrial category, represents the latest evolution in high-performance laser cutting, combining advanced engineering with thoughtful design enhancements that elevate operator experience and process efficiency. Fences were developed by Alex Terzariol and MM Design (Milan, Italy) as well as the enclosures and their ergonomics in full compliance with CE regulations, while Salvagnini handled the gantry architecture and mechanical design. The machine features a large front opening with dual sliding doors to ensure easy inspection, while large observation windows - positioned at an ergonomic height and protected by horizontal polycarbonate safety bands - allow operators to monitor the laser sheet metal processing safely and efficiently.

Salvagnini’s approach to L3.G4 emphasises process usability and energy efficiency: the interface is positioned for intuitive control during loading and programming, while key technical components, including the electrical panel and laser source, reside in easily accessible compartments. Together, these elements create a highly accessible layout that enhances ergonomics and operational simplicity. The L3.G4’s architecture was engineered to be visually compact despite the machine’s scale and to fit within a standard shipping container without requiring disassembly — streamlining logistics and deployment. The choice of materials, shapes, colours, and graphics aligns with Salvagnini’s 'Diamond Bend' corporate design, a project initiated by MM Design in collaboration with Salvagnini’s marketing department.

Francesco Scarpari, president of Salvagnini Group said: “This recognition highlights our ability to integrate advanced technology, usability, and design into a single industrial system. The Good Design Award confirms the value of our continuous investment in innovation that delivers measurable benefits to customers while setting new standards in industrial design.”
