Flow Europe GmbH has introduced the NX Pro Waterjet Cutting System to the European market reinforcing its position as a world technology leader. Designed with advanced technologies new to the market, it delivers capabilities that improve efficiency, optimise operations, and reduce overall costs. The integrated abrasive recycling system reduces garnet consumption by up to 50%, and up to 75% in comparison to the industry-standard 4,000 bar cutting process. This lowers disposal requirements, operating expenses, and cost per part at the same time.
Productivity and ease of use are further enhanced through an energy-efficient pump that auto-adapts to demand, the machine has a four-sided enclosure, and an improved software suite. The NX Pro is the world’s first waterjet system with fully automated abrasive recycling. Used abrasive is extracted from the catcher tank and separated through a proprietary filtration system. Reusable garnet is then mixed with new abrasive and fed to the cutting head.
Ethan Romanoff, director of high-pressure engineering at
Shape Technologies Group, said: “The NX Pro system integrates patented technologies in a fully connected recycling process. Used abrasive is processed directly from the catcher tank and routed through an intelligent metering and control system that ensures consistent, high-performance recycled abrasive is available on demand. The precisely controlled recycled abrasive mixture is then delivered to a specialised cutting head powered by a new energy-optimising pump, delivering higher cutting performance, reduced waste, and lower cost per inch.”
The entire recycling process runs fully automatically during cutting operations and requires no manual user intervention. This increases system availability, improves process reliability and increases uptime. The new recycling system, based on exclusive Flow technology, operates with high energy efficiency, generating considerable cost savings compared to conventional waterjets working with single-use abrasive.
The NX Pro is equipped with adaptive NX pump technology and operates at working pressures of 6,500 or 4,150 bar. An integrated variable frequency drive adjusts power consumption based on demand, enabling significant energy savings. A four-sided machine enclosure reduces noise and splash emissions while improving overall system safety. A mobile control console with a 24-inch touchscreen, together with FlowXpert Infinity CAD and new FlowCut NX software, enhances usability through optimized cutting paths, improved material utilization, higher production rates, and taper control using Dynamic Waterjet. The NX Pro is available with work envelopes ranging from 2m x 2m up to 4m x 4m.
