Optimax highlights expanded metrology range for GD&TBruker Alicona systems offer 3D optical measurement and inspection

Optimax has announced an expanded portfolio of advanced non-contact metrology solutions designed to support Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) analysis. The offering is aimed at helping manufacturers meet increasingly stringent tolerance requirements, particularly in high-specification sectors such as aerospace, automotive and medical devices.

GD&T plays a central role in ensuring component safety and maintaining quality control, defining the permissible deviation of a manufactured part from its nominal design. Optimax’s automated inspection systems enable direct comparison between CAD data and finished components, allowing users to identify micro-scale surface variations and potential defects with speed and accuracy.

As an independent specialist, Optimax supplies a selection of leading technologies suited to both shopfloor and laboratory environments. Its range includes Bruker Alicona systems, which provide 3D optical coordinate measurement for assessing surface roughness and complex geometries, alongside EviXscan solutions that utilise high-density blue-light scanning to deliver rapid and detailed part inspection.

The portfolio also incorporates Starrett multi-sensor and CNC video metrology systems, designed for larger-scale or high-capacity measurement tasks, as well as Vision Engineering’s high-precision non-contact measuring microscopes for detailed inspection work.

All of these systems are available for demonstration at the company’s application centre in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, where customers can evaluate the technologies against their specific measurement requirements.
