GE Aerospace welcomed local member of parliament Seema Malhotra to its on wing support facility near London Heathrow recently, with the visit providing an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the team behind the site’s launch and ongoing success.
Officially opened at the end of last year, the facility has quickly established itself as an important part of GE Aerospace’s global customer support network. Located close to one of the world’s busiest airports, the Heathrow operation provides engine maintenance and repair services (MRO) designed to help airline customers minimise downtime and keep aircraft in service.
The visit brought employees together to reflect on the progress made since the site opened and to recognise the growing role the facility plays in supporting airline operators across Europe and further afield.
The London Heathrow facility expands GE Aerospace’s on wing support network through a strategically positioned base that enables maintenance expertise to be delivered closer to customers. By carrying out engine maintenance and repair work near major airline operations, the site is helping to improve response times and reduce aircraft downtime.
The investment also underlines GE Aerospace’s continued focus on strengthening its global support infrastructure while expanding its technical capabilities and workforce.
