ENCY Software has launched version 2.9 of its ENCY CAD/CAM platform and ENCY Robot software, introducing a range of enhancements designed to improve productivity, reporting capabilities and licence management for manufacturing users.
Among the most notable additions is an expanded operation status window that now provides detailed machining metrics in real time. Users can view the current machining result volume in cubic centimetres, the removed material volume and the volume removal rate. For example, the software can display a removed volume of 66.576cm³ at a removal rate of 18.183cm³/min, allowing users to see that the workpiece volume has been reduced to 1,669.195cm³ following the selected machining operation. This data helps users quickly assess material removal performance and is also accessible via the software's API for further integration into digital manufacturing workflows.
Reporting functionality has also been strengthened. The toolpath sections of machining reports can now include additional information such as work length and machining time, providing more detailed production documentation. Users are also able to select file formats and save locations through a standard dialogue window, while local PDF generation is now supported without the need for an internet connection.
ENCY has announced an important licensing change affecting SOLIDWORKS integration. From 1 July 2026, access to SOLIDWORKS file integration is controlled through a separate licensed module called SOLIDWORKS Reader. Users who need to work directly with SOLIDWORKS files must ensure this module forms part of their ENCY licence package.
The latest release also delivers several usability enhancements. The software's smart hints system has been expanded with visual explanations covering parameters used in four-axis machining, turning operations, cladding applications and 5D machining. In Cladding 3D and Area Cladding operations, smooth transitions between passes are now supported using Bezier spline technology, while the Cladding 5D operation gains new axial and radial allowance parameters.
Further improvements have been made to the network licence server application. Administrators can now access licence usage statistics over selected periods, making it easier to track when licences were checked out and by whom. Additional information has also been added to licence status fields, providing greater transparency and simplifying administration.
Version 2.9 includes more than 180 fixes aimed at improving stability, calculation accuracy and interface reliability. ENCY Software says the update resolves issues that could cause crashes or freezes during toolpath recalculation, simulation, operation execution, application shutdown and network licence usage. The company has also addressed problems relating to project opening and saving, STEP and Parasolid model imports, CAD associativity, machining toolpaths, collision visualisation, simulation processes, rotary strategies, NC code generation and reporting functions. A number of interface-related issues affecting windows, home page elements and pop-up displays have also been corrected.
Customers with an active Software Maintenance Contract have already received notifications and can now update to ENCY 2.9.
