Manufacturer Eural Gnutti to make debut at AMB 2026 Eural Gnutti, the world’s leading manufacturer of drawn aluminium alloy bars for machining and one of the main players in the production of extruded bars and profiles, makes its debut at AMB 2026, the leading international trade fair dedicated to metalworking, taking place from 15 to 19 September in Stuttgart.

“Where metal comes alive” is the slogan that perfectly encapsulates the theme of this year’s event, which brings together key players from across the entire supply chain to explore technologies, innovation, services and solutions in all their forms. In this regard, Eural Gnutti’s presence at the event represents an important opportunity to showcase its high-performance aluminium alloys and strengthen collaboration with machine builders and tool manufacturers, pooling the know-how gained in balancing material performance and production process efficiency.

All eyes are on 2033, the alloy developed by Eural to anticipate the increasingly stringent restrictions on the use of lead, whilst maintaining high levels of productivity and quality in machining operations. This alloy combines excellent machinability in key operations such as turning, milling, drilling and tapping with process stability and outstanding surface finish characteristics, thanks in particular to its excellent suitability for anodising.

The 2033 builds on the legacy of the historic high-machinability alloys, reinterpreting it in the light of the needs of the contemporary manufacturing industry. Whilst the alloys developed in the second half of the twentieth century were designed for predominantly mechanical machine tools, Eural’s offering has been created to meet the requirements of modern CNC systems and enable their full potential to be realised. The aim is not simply to replace a long-established alloy such as 2011, but to offer customers a solution capable of increasing productivity whilst maintaining process stability.

Thanks to its metallurgical properties, 2033 enables particularly demanding machining operations to be carried out whilst maintaining dimensional accuracy, surface quality and effective chip management, with tangible benefits in terms of cycle times. In applications on multi-spindle machines, the alloy enables operation at high rotational speeds and under high pressure, as well as the ability to programme fixed cycles. Furthermore, it represents an excellent and viable alternative to other metallic materials, particularly brass, thanks in part to the low melting point of the bismuth present in its composition.

More sustainable production models

Alongside its machining performance, the 2033’s environmental profile is consistent with the path Eural Gnutti has embarked upon towards more sustainable production models. Compliant with RoHS regulations, the alloy has been designed to facilitate a high proportion of recycled aluminium – up to 95 per cent – helping to reduce the use of virgin raw materials whilst maintaining the quality standards required by the most demanding applications.

Over 15 years of machining trials carried out with customers in Europe, the United States and Asian countries have enabled Eural Gnutti to build up a wealth of practical expertise gained directly in the field. These trials, carried out on traditional machine tools, multi-spindle lathes and state-of-the-art CNC machining centres, enable the behaviour of alloys to be analysed under various production conditions, translating this experience into tangible added value for each specific application.

The machine fleet, cutting tools, process parameters and component geometries can, in fact, have a significant impact on the final result. For this reason, Eural Gnutti works alongside the customer to identify the most effective solution, collaborating closely with machine manufacturers and tool producers. Its approach extends the value of the supply beyond the material itself, thanks to direct engagement with the entire supply chain and an integrated vision that brings together metallurgical expertise, process knowledge and the ability to interpret specific production requirements.
