Conbility GmbH, has welcomed Belgian family holding company
Henkes & Co as a strategic partner and shareholder.
The partnership is intended to support Conbility's next phase of growth, accelerating the development and commercialisation of production technologies for high-performance composite components while expanding the company's industrialisation services.
Founded in 2015, Conbility develops production systems and manufacturing processes for advanced composites, helping customers progress from product and process development through to industrialisation and production ramp-up. The company combines expertise in component design, materials, manufacturing processes and production equipment to create solutions tailored to both technical and production requirements.
A key area of focus remains the advancement of Conbility's winding and automated tape placement technologies for thermoplastic tapes, thermoset prepregs and dry-fibre materials. These systems are used to manufacture a range of components, including pipes, pressure vessels, profiles, rotor sleeves and structural composite parts.
Alongside this, the company is expanding its portfolio with extrusion-based large-format additive manufacturing systems. By combining additive manufacturing with automated tape placement and winding technologies, Conbility is developing hybrid production processes that offer both design flexibility and the performance benefits of continuous-fibre reinforcement.
The company is also strengthening its manufacturing capabilities to support customers throughout the industrialisation cycle. Using its own production systems, Conbility can develop and validate manufacturing processes, produce prototype and pre-series parts, and support initial production while customers' dedicated manufacturing systems are being built. Once commissioned, validated processes can be transferred directly into the customer's production environment.
According to the company, this approach enables customers to qualify new applications, supply samples and meet early market demand before full-scale production capacity becomes available, while providing valuable production feedback that helps further refine Conbility's manufacturing technologies.
