More than 60 UK defence companies joined military and industry representatives from over 20 countries at the Military Engineering Showcase 2026, highlighting the breadth of British military engineering capability and supporting future export opportunities.
Organised by
National Armaments International (NA-Intl) and held on 5-6 October, the event brought together Ministry of Defence personnel, international delegations and defence suppliers to discuss common military engineering challenges and explore new technologies.
A total of 66 UK companies demonstrated products and services covering areas such as combat engineering, force protection, counter-explosive ordnance disposal, demining, deployable infrastructure and survivability. The showcase also featured capability demonstrations, technical presentations, industry briefings and networking sessions designed to encourage collaboration between defence organisations and overseas partners.
The event reflected the growing importance of military engineering in supporting operational effectiveness, force protection, humanitarian operations and post-conflict recovery. Organisers said the showcase also underscored the vital role played by the UK’s defence manufacturing base, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in developing specialist military capabilities.
Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Teeton MBE RE, Military Advisor Counter-Explosive Ordnance and CBRN at National Armaments International, said: “The UK military engineering sector is home to world-leading companies, many of them SMEs, that are passionate about supporting Defence. Through collaboration and export opportunities, we can help sustain the skills, expertise and innovation needed to meet current and future military engineering requirements.”
He added: “Events like the Military Engineering demo help us enhance capability, improve interoperability and support a resilient UK industrial base by strengthening partnerships and sharing approaches to common challenges.”
Delegates also had the opportunity to engage with the Export Support Team (EST), part of NA-International. Comprising British Army officers and soldiers, the team provides specialist military advice and support to defence and security companies seeking to develop products and expand their export activities.
According to the organisers, the showcase was intended to strengthen international partnerships, improve interoperability between allied nations and increase awareness of UK defence capabilities. By bringing together military users, overseas delegations and industry specialists, the event provided a platform for discussing current and emerging requirements while helping UK companies identify future export and collaboration opportunities in the global defence market.
