Scarab Sweepers wins award for championing British manufacturing Scarab Sweepers, the Kent-based road sweeper manufacturer, has been recognised for its commitment to British manufacturing after receiving the 2026 Made in Britain Trademark Excellence Award.

The Tonbridge company, part of the international Fayat Group, was presented with the accolade at Made in Britain's annual Impact Awards ceremony on 4 November. The award recognises manufacturers that demonstrate the commercial, environmental and social benefits of making products in the UK.

Scarab was selected for its active promotion of British manufacturing and its use of Made in Britain's Environmental and Social Value Certification to showcase responsible business practices. The company has used the certification to strengthen its procurement credentials and support its position when bidding for contracts.

The manufacturer was also recognised for a range of community and environmental initiatives, including support for local food banks, participation in native tree-planting projects through the Woodland Trust and environmental education activities aimed at young children.

Earlier this year, Scarab unveiled its latest generation of British-built road sweeping machines, carrying the official Made in Britain trademark. The company says the accreditation helps reinforce the reputation of its products in both domestic and international markets.

Richard Dennis, managing director of Scarab Sweepers, said: “We're absolutely thrilled to receive the Trademark Excellence Award for 2026. Our business, which was founded 47 years ago, is proud to be made in Britain.”

Aaron Barton, technical sales and fleet assistant at Scarab Sweepers, added: “The UK is the worldwide hub of road sweepers, and having the Made in Britain accreditation is a market lead and advantage over our competitors. This is a market benefit for both the domestic market and the export market as well.”

Camilla Hadcock, chair of Made in Britain, said the award recognised companies that demonstrate the wider value of UK manufacturing beyond the place of production alone.

“Scarab Sweepers has shown that the Made in Britain trademark is about much more than where a product is manufactured. It's about demonstrating the values, expertise and responsible practices behind it,” she said.

“The company has embraced the opportunities that membership provides, using its environmental and social value credentials to strengthen customer confidence while actively supporting its community. Scarab is an outstanding ambassador for British manufacturing and a thoroughly deserving recipient of our Trademark Excellence Award.”

The award was presented for only the second time, following its introduction in 2025, and recognises exceptional engagement with Made in Britain and the wider manufacturing community.

Organised by the not-for-profit trade body Made in Britain, the annual Impact Awards celebrate the achievements of manufacturers licensed to use the organisation's trademark. Other winners this year included Invica Industries, Rotary Precision Instruments, MAV Systems, Apex Pumps, Orange Campers, Trueform Engineering and Aluminium Shapes.
