Delcam extends five-axis capability

#delcam #engineering #ukmfg Delcam Professional Services (www.delcam.com) has invested in a Mori Seiki NMV5000 for its Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Birmingham, extending its ability to undertake high-speed, high-precision five-axis machining of complex parts. With excellent access to the workpiece, this machine is ideal for prototype and short-run production work. It will be used initially for process development projects for mid-size aerospace parts.

DPS works mainly with clients in the aerospace and power generation sectors to improve their manufacturing processes — by increasing productivity and accuracy and reducing lead times. For most projects, these improvements are achieved through the use of adaptive machining, plus Delcam’s combination of machining and inspection technology. It can also supply extra design and programming resources if a customer’s existing staff are overloaded, develop software to automate existing production methods and establish new turn-key processes for the manufacture of novel designs.
