Cyber-Weld looking to move

Cyber-Weld looking to moveCyber-Weld has submitted plans to Stratford District Council to move from its 6,500 sq ft facility in Long Itchington to a purpose-built 15,000ft2 unit at Phase Two of the Holywell Business Park in Southam. The robotic welding company has received a £100,000 grant from the Regional Growth Fund (via Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership) towards the move and the purchase of the latest technology and licences.

Managing director Fraser Reid, who set up the business 14 years ago, said: “The RGF grant has been a big help. We need to buy the latest software and licences for SolidWorks and 3-D modelling plus the latest digital displays in engineering.”

The firm has already created three graduate technical jobs and plans to take on three more technicians over the next three years, as well as a couple of fabricators/welders.

Mr Reid said that his company is currently focusing on training, as half of the workforce is over the age of 45. “They are passing on their skills to their younger colleagues, because it is important that we don’t lose their knowledge. That’s why we invest in young people and pay for their training.”
