Edinburgh-based Premier Hytemp, which provides metal-based solutions to the oil and gas industry, is to complement its existing 78,000 sq ft manufacturing operation in Singapore, which primarily serves the well-head and sub-sea tree markets, with a 67,000 sq ft precision-engineering facility that will also serve the down-hole tools market.
It has acquired the land and expects to start construction later this year.
The company can handle contracts ranging from one-off commissions with short turn-round times to turn-key solutions and full supply-chain management.
Its services include sawing and proof machining, heat treatment, testing, final machining, cladding and assembly — supported by an in-house technical team with expertise in metallurgy, forging, welding and project engineering.
CEO Campbell MacPherson says: “This $20 million investment will significantly increase our capacity to serve clients in the down-hole tools market. The expanded scope of the new facility means that we are strongly positioned to deepen our relationships with established customers and to attract new business.
"Our control of all aspects of the product-manufacturing process also provides our clients with additional assurance in terms of quality control and on-time delivery.”
