The 2015r1 release of Vero Software’s Javelin production control system (
www.javelin-mrp.com) contains a comprehensive new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) option designed to help manufacturers maximise sales.
While previous releases have had basic functionality for recording contact with customers and prospects, the new module provides the means to register all opportunities for additional work and to follow it through with a series of tasks and automated triggers.
Customer and prospect activity management is controlled through a number of key features. For example, Prospect Database allows existing and potential customers to be recorded, along with other contacts who may be involved with long-running projects, such as engineers and architects.
The Opportunities feature means that any opportunity to make a sale can be recorded; moreover, the record can be as extensive as required, with user-defined fields added automatically or selectively, to suit specific projects.
Meanwhile, the Activities feature allows details of communications such as phone calls, conversations and e-mails to be registered against prospects, customers, opportunities, quotes and sales orders.
Furthermore, all these details can be linked to any other part of the CRM system, for total cross-source analysis.
There is also a Campaigns feature that allows e-shots, exhibitions and other sales campaigns to be recorded and their activities to be linked.
Also incorporated in Javelin 2015r1is a new planning board within the scheduling function.
This improves the system’s drag-and-drop capability; there is also a new ‘drill down’ feature that shows all the operations on a particular work centre.
Meanwhile, a new multi-line quote confirmation allows up to 9,999 lines on a quote to be converted into sales order lines in one operation.
