Citizen Machinery — represented in the UK by Bushey-based Citizen Machinery UK Ltd (www.citizenmachinery.co.uk) — will be introducing several new products in its Cincom sliding-head range and Miyano fixed-head range.

The Citizen-Cincom range now includes ‘re-invented’ L-series machines, which are built on a modular platform and have improved lift-up guarding.

These machines will be represented by the series-topping seven-axis L32-XII and the six-axis L20-XII. Both feature a B axis for driven tools, a back tool-post with Y-axis feed, 40-tool capacity and detachable guide bush.

Meanwhile, the five-axis L12 on show will feature a 15,000rev/min spindle, driven tools with a maximum speed of 10,000rev/min and automatic part unloading.

Also being launched are Citizen’s R-series ultra-compact machines. The RD01 with its 1mm capacity and R04 with its 4mm capacity are available in 16 models. They feature fast-accelerating 20,000rev/min spindles and — depending on the variant — between three and six axes plus eight to 17 tool positions.

The award-winning MC20-III will also be demonstrated. This multi-station machining cell features three modular spindle/tool platen units and allows progressive machining at each station (this configuration is said to provide a faster change-over and lower machine cost when compared with a multi-spindle machine).

Citizen-Miyano fixed-head turn-mill centres will be represented by four machines, including the BNJ-51SY6. This has a 12-station main turret, a six-station secondary turret, a 15kW main spindle and a 7.5kW sub-spindle.

Meanwhile, the BNA-42GTY has an eight-station turret and a gang tool post for a total of 45 tool positions. It can undertake high-productivity balanced cutting and ‘pinch’ milling, as well as three-axis overlapped cycles.

A BNE-51MSY will demonstrate simultaneous machining with three tools using the latest Mitsubishi Superimposition control, while the GN3200W will highlight the benefits of an integrated high-speed gantry. (Hall 2, Stand E19/F17)
