At this year’s EMO, LS Starrett Co Ltd will be showing a number of recently launched sawing machines and new blades designed to increase sawing productivity.

For example, the S4230 and S4240 semi-automatic machines both feature cast-iron bows for vibration damping, along with hydraulic blade feed. The S4230 also supports mitre cutting (-45 to +60deg), as does the S4240 (-45 to +75deg); this saw is also suitable for intensive work and for cutting harder materials up to 300mm in diameter.

Meanwhile, the S6330 is a fully automatic CNC machine that features a dual column for balanced cutting forces and a variable-speed drive for a cutting speed range of 20-100m/min. This machine will be used to demonstrate the sawing capabilities of Starrett’s Advanz MC5 and Advanz MC7 carbide-tipped saw blades.

The MC5 has a trapezoidal tooth geometry designed to create five chips as the blade passes through materials such as aluminium, cast iron, bronze and copper. The MC7 generates seven chips and is for more difficult materials such as Inconel and titanium. (Hall 18, Stand B13)
