Latest sawing and storage technology#EMO2015 The German company Kasto, which has a UK subsidiary in Milton Keynes (www.kasto.com), will be presenting machines and equipment from the two sides of its business — sawing and storage.

The Unitower long-material storage system is available in three variants and is suitable for bar materials, sections, sheet and plate, as well as euro-pallets, boxes and other items.

Moreover, its height means it can hold a given amount of stock in a smaller space than floor or cantilever-arm storage systems.

The horizontal bandsaws in the KastoTec series are designed for processing large workpieces and materials that are difficult to cut.

A ballscrew drive positions the material to be sawn very accurately, while precision-balanced drive components allow high cutting speeds and ensure smooth running for long blade life.

The KastoTec AC 4 carbide-specification bandsaw on show has a cutting range of 430mm.

Meanwhile, the KastoWin series comprises five automatic bandsaws with cutting capacities up to 1,060mm. A KastoWin A 8.6 with a cutting capacity of 860mm will be demonstrated; this features Kasto’s touch-screen SmartControl, which contains a library of material data and automatically sets all necessary cutting parameters.

The company will also be demonstrating high-performance automatic circular saws in combination with a robotic sorting system (pictured right). (Hall 18, Stand A18/B09)
