Wokingham-based SGS Tool Europe Ltd (
www.sgstool.eu) will be launching the next generation of its Z-Carb High Performance tools.
The new range of Z-Carb HPR five-flute roughing end mills is designed for aggressive high-speed roughing, as well as finish-machining applications.
SGS’s use of variable-flute indexing provides improved chatter suppression compared with a symmetrical design.
Moreover, the cutters are available in a variety of lengths, along with square and corner radius options; they are also available with the company’s Ti-Namite-M coating for machining difficult materials such as titanium. This coating has a hardness value of 3,600 (HV) and minimises the possibility of built-up edge forming.
Z-Carb HPR cutters also feature a central hole that delivers coolant directly to the cutting zone. (Hall 5, Stand B42)
