Huddersfield-based Batoyle Freedom Group has announced that its assets and factory are to be sold after it was acquired by a German firm last year.
The lubricant manufacturer’s 25,000sq ft premises in the Milnsbridge district of Huddersfield are being auctioned off by the Leeds-based Landwood Group of chartered surveyors, while its assets have already been disposed of.
Founded in 1875, Batoyle was acquired in June 2014 by Fuchs, a family-owned firm with a UK subsidiary in Stoke-on-Trent. The Huddersfield site was closed down earlier this year, with the loss of 50 jobs.
The machinery and business assets team at the Leeds office of the Landwood Group sold off Batoyle’s specialist range of assets, including blending and storage vessels and laboratory-analysis equipment.
