Birmingham-based Lloyds British Testing (LBT) (

This will cover more than 21,000 pieces of lifting equipment, pressure vessels, cranes, elevators and fork-lift trucks at the Portsmouth Naval Base and BAE Systems’ site in Bahrain.
LBT managing director Ryan White said: “This contract will cover equipment on over eight square miles of real estate and in more than 500 buildings. We will be working closely with the MoD’s compliance department and with the BAE Systems teams that have been set up to manage all of the equipment we will be inspecting.”
LBT’s annual turnover is now more than £24 million, and the business employs more than 300 people.
