Team Bath Racing, the UK’s top Formula Student team, recently unveiled its new car for the 2017 season at an exclusive launch event at the University of Bath (

The team is made up of final-year undergraduate engineering students and competes annually in the Formula Student (FS) competition, which is run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
The first event the car will compete in will be at the home of British motor car racing — Silverstone — 20-23 July; this will be followed by events in the Czech Republic and Germany.
Team Bath Racing has been the UK’s top ranked team for three consecutive years and last season became the first British team to win an FS event anywhere in the world. As a result, it is now ranked fifth out of 630 competing teams.
Looking ahead to the FS season, Sam Bunday, Team Bath Racing’s business manager, said: “After the success of last year’s team, the pressure is on to go one better, so we’re targeting a win at Silverstone.
“It’s the UK event’s 20th anniversary this year, which coincides with the university’s 50th anniversary, so it seems like the perfect time to make history.”
