New apprenticeship scheme launchedBromborough-based Teledyne CML Composites has launched a new apprenticeship scheme in association with the Engineering College, the National Composites Centre (NCC) and the Composites UK Trade Association (www.teledynecml.com).

This is designed to secure the future availability of skilled personnel, as the company gears up to meet its long-term growth plans.

The ‘Trailblazer’ apprenticeship is a three-year scheme designed to train students in all aspects of composite manufacturing — from material properties, design engineering and production methods to customer support and applications of composite parts in industry sectors such as aerospace, defence and automotive/motor sport.

At the end of the three-year apprenticeship scheme, successful candidates will attain an NVQ Level 3 extended diploma.

General manager John Toner said: “Recent success in securing a number of contracts has highlighted a need to put in place a resource to train skilled engineers to help us continue our plans to make Teledyne CML Composites a global supplier.”
