Bridgend-based Nemein Ltd, which specialises in down-hole equipment for the oil and gas industry, has ordered three CNC machine tools from GF Machining Solutions Ltd, Coventry (
www.gfms.com/uk).
The Agie Charmilles FORM 300 EDM die-sink machine, Agie Charmilles CUT E600 wire EDM machine and Mikron HEM 700U five-axis machining centre will be delivered before the end of the year at the rate of one per month; they will be used — in the first instance — to make high-precision components and assemblies for Nemein’s latest down-hole tools.
These represent a major breakthrough, with their ability to ‘harvest’ energy from heat and vibration.
Nemein CEO Suzannah Bourne said: “To better control our manufacturing processes, we decided to strengthen our in-house machining capabilities by investing in high-performance machine tools.
"We undertook a comprehensive research programme, and we were particularly impressed not only by GF Machining Solutions’ technologies but also by their customer-focused and partnership-based business approach.
"These are exciting times for Nemein; this investment will be instrumental in helping us achieve our ambitious business growth and expansion objectives.”
Roger Mullard, area sales manager for GF Machining Solutions, said: “Nemein’s innovation and its engineering and technical prowess are highly regarded world-wide.
"We are delighted to be working in partnership with a company with such impressive credentials.”
