The latest release (2018 R1) of WorkXplore CAD viewer and analyser from Gloucester-based Vero Software features ‘Batch Converter’, which allows batches of CAD files to be converted to the WorkXplore format, instead of having to convert them one at a time (
www.verosoftware.com).
Once launched, it does not require any user intervention, other than to check the current conversion status.
Other items of new and enhanced functionality in WorkXplore 2018 R1 include support for 4K high-resolution screens, plus an additional STEP reader/translator option; this allows users to choose between the faster in-house integrated import library and the slower — but higher-quality — Datakit converter.
The software’s ‘Client Viewer’ has also been improved. This tool already enabled users to communicate 3-D parts and assemblies to sub-contractors, customers or colleagues via the Internet.
Now, they can also export GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) data with the solid model.
As in many previous versions, WorkXplore 2018 R1 offers updated format support for translators.
Among the 25 reader and writer formats now fully supported are Catia V6, Creo, Inventor, Parasolid, Rhino, SolidWorks, STEP, DXF, IGES and 3D PDF.
