Pershore-based Freddy Products Ltd (
www.freddy-products.co.uk) will mark its return to the show with the launch of the latest member of its coolant-recycling ‘vacuum’ family, the Micro Plus (Hall 19 Stand 108).
This has a small footprint and a 50-litre capacity; furthermore, it does not use “fragile and often unreliable submersible pumps” that take up valuable tank capacity and can be difficult to clean.
As a result, Freddy says that the Micro Plus can take on heavily contaminated liquids without damaging parts or machinery.
Moreover, when the air flow is switched from vacuum to a pressurised flow, the collected liquids are forced out of the holding tank, allowing users to recycle and clean 50 litres of coolant through the Micro Plus — and return the fluid to the machine tool’s sump — in less than 60sec.
The short cycle time is attributable to the design of the new pump, which can transfer fluid efficiently from machine tools rather than use a gravity drain, which Freddy says is commonplace in competitor units of comparable capacity.
Freddy’s latest coolant ‘vacuum’ incorporates a 2kW motor that pumps fluid and residue into barrels, intermediate bulk containers and even overhead storage tanks.
With the option of either a 240 or 110V power source, the motor can generate an air-flow rate of 3000m
3/hr.
Like other models in the Freddy Products range, the Micro Plus recycles fluids and coolant through a filter bag, which is available with mesh sizes from 1,000 down to 5µm, depending on requirements.
The Micro Plus is supplied with a 38mm hose and ‘gulper’ as standard, although customers have the option to upgrade to a 51mm hose if required.
