Displaying 3-D CAD models in PowerPoint

Displaying 3-D CAD models in PowerPointCore Technologie (www.coretechnologie.com), which has a UK subsidiary based in London, has further developed its 3D_Evolution CAD data conversion software and made it suitable for PowerPoint.

With the latest version of this software (4.2), CAD models of all common formats — including Catia, NX, Creo, STEP and JT — can be converted and imported as a 3-D object in PowerPoint under Windows 10. The models can be rotated, zoomed and moved in the presentation, like in a common CAD viewer.

Furthermore, Core Technologie has incorporated further refinements into the new software. For instance, thanks to the new ‘Simplifier’ module, the detailing of large models can be reduced within seconds by generating an envelope geometry at the press of a button.

As a result, very large assemblies of complete machines and systems can be displayed in PowerPoint — even on an office lap-top.
