The future of British manufacturing

The future of British manufacturing Birmingham-based Autodesk (www.autodesk.com) will be sharing its vision of the ‘Future of British Manufacturing’ at MACH with the 2019 releases of CAM software products that include Autodesk PowerMill and Autodesk FeatureCAM (Hall 17 Stand 600).

Visitors can hear more on the main stage (12 April) at the MACH Conference Centre, where Asif Moghal (senior industry manager at Autodesk) will be presenting on the Future of British Manufacturing initiative — a collaboration between leading UK industry organisations.

The new ‘additive capabilities’ within PowerMill 2019 allow manufacturers to exploit the latest generation of additive and hybrid CNC hardware, driving wire-fed and powder-blown processes.

Visitors to the stand will be able to view a scaled-down sample of a RAMLAB (Rotterdam Additive Manufacturing LAB) propeller that was manufactured using PowerMill additive technology.

At the show, visitors will also get the chance to see a technology preview of Autodesk’s new Fusion Production ‘smart manufacturing software’; this combines production planning, job tracking and machine monitoring by using cloud computing and the IoT.

Although it is not yet available commercially in the UK, interested companies can request free access to either the pilot or beta program.
