'Making waves' in Japan

Edinburgh-based Atlantis Resources has entered into a collaboration agreement with Nagasaki University to investigate the feasibility of tidal power generation at a number of sites around the Goto Islands in Japan (www.atlantisresourcesltd.com).

They will endeavour to determine the potential capacity of a number of scenarios — and the cost of the energy that would be produced.

Tim Cornelius, CEO of Atlantis Resources, said: “This collaboration will help decision-makers to implement the policy required to move the tidal-power sector forward in Japan.

“We are delighted to bring our operational experience from the MeyGen project to Japan to facilitate the accelerated development of the sector.
