Record exhibition sales for Citizen#MACH2018 Bushey-based Citizen Machinery UK (CMUK) left MACH 2018 on a high, with 46 machine orders worth over £6.3 million directly linked to the show, of which 18 were confirmed and concluded during the week and a further 28 pending final specification agreement, application discussions or financial approval (www.citizenmachinery.co.uk).

Managing director Edward James said: “This was an important endorsement to the activities of the new management team and reflected the effort put in by everyone in the company to achieve record exhibition sales at a UK event.

“Moreover, we achieved record sales in 2017, and the first quarter of 2018 raised the standard higher, resulting in our Japanese parent ‘rubber-stamping’ our new £2 million CMUK facility and showroom in the West Midlands.

“This is in addition to our headquarters in Bushey, Watford.”

Deputy managing director Darren Wilkins said: “Of orders placed so far from the show — or under final discussions — 14 involve totally new customers.

“I also want to highlight the positive reaction to our patented Low Frequency Vibration (LFV) chip-control technology, which was demonstrated on Cincom L20 and L12 machines; LFV was also introduced on our Miyano range via a BNA-42GTYLFV.

“In total, 18 orders worth some £1.9 million were taken at the show for LFV machines.

“Furthermore, in the week following MACH but totally separate from the show, three machines worth £500,000 were ordered.”
