Nissan (
www.nissan-europe.com) and Sibeg, which bottles Coca-Cola products for the Sicilian market, have agreed to create an electric ecosystem for the island consisting of vehicles and infrastructures.
This signals the start of the second phase of the ‘Green Mobility Project’, which includes 110 new electric Nissan Leafs used by Sibeg sales representatives and eight new fast-charging stations.
Through the co-operation with Nissan, Sibeg has expanded its infrastructure network across the entire island, adding eight new fast-charging stations to the 60 charging points installed by Sibeg in a strategic partnership with Italian energy company Enel (seven of these 60 are also fast-charging points).
When the project first began in 2015, there were only three charging stations on Sicily.
This initial stage made Sibeg the first company in Europe to equip itself with full-electric zero-emission vehicles, as well as four electric scooters used for activities on smaller islands.
