Hove-based CGTech Ltd (
www.cgtech.co.uk) — the developer of Vericut CNC verification, simulation and optimisation software — has announced that its latest release (Version 8.2) will include an interface with the Sandvik Coromant CoroPlus ToolLibrary — a digital tool library that removes the need for users to browse catalogues and Web pages to find the required tool data.
The database is ‘open’ to all tools (from any supplier) that conform to ISO 13399.
As users are able to create digital tool assemblies within CoroPlus ToolLibrary that can be imported directly to Vericut, significant time savings can be achieved.
CGTech believes users can reduce the time needed to create a typical tool list by around 50%, with the added benefit of knowing that the tools will be an exact digital representation of the physical tools and completely error-free.
Using the interface, the planning of machining operations using the exact dimensions and models of the tools enables accurate CAM programming and simulation, reducing the risk of collisions during machining.
Users can find the tool simply by inputting the ordering code or using filter commands. The finished assemblies are then imported into Vericut for simulation.
