EWM AG invests in German headquartersThe welding technology manufacturer EWM AG (www.ewm-group.com) is building a new administration building plus another production and logistics hall at its headquarters in Mündersbach, Germany.

A modern four-storey office complex for 80 employees is being developed on an 1,800m2 plot, while the new production and logistics hall is being built on a 3,000m2 plot. The family-run company is investing a total of 8 million euros in this project.

With 12 German and seven international locations, as well as more than 400 sales and service support outlets world-wide, EWM is one of the largest manufacturers of arc welding technology.

Company chairman Susanne Szczesny-Ossing said: “The demand for our welding technology continues to grow, which is why we are increasing our capacity with a new production and logistics hall; and by building a new office complex, we can bring all our administration activities under one roof, increasing our efficiency.”

EWM has already made headway on the preparation work for the production and logistics hall.

The top floor will house a logistics centre with a finished goods warehouse and shipping department; the ground floor will be given over to the automated production of the company’s products.

Once the new buildings have been officially opened in 2019, a driverless transportation system will take the finished welding machines to the storage area.

EWM is focusing on ‘forward looking’ energy concepts for the building of the new hall; there will also be a modern co-generation power plant, so that the site can produce its own power, and the lighting in the new facility will be precisely controlled, based on the amount of daylight available.
