Hager opens training academy in TelfordHager Group CEO Daniel Hager officially opened Hager UK’s new training academy in Telford last month. This will offer electrical contractors the opportunity to sharpen their skills and knowledge, in particular around the mandatory introduction of the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (coming into effect in January 2019).

Students will be able to make use of the latest touch-screen technology and an immersive learning environment to gain
certification in a number of City & Guilds accredited courses.

Hager’s ability to work alongside contractors at the new training academy so they better understand the changed regulatory landscape after January is important to the company.

Bruce Davies, Hager UK’s managing director, said: “The ‘state of the art’ training facilities at the academy, combined with the expertise of the Hager training team, will ensure a fantastic training environment for all who attend in the future.”

Marketing manager Ian Smith said: “The development of the new training academy is the latest in a number of important initiatives the company has undertaken in recent months, led by our ‘Regs Live’ campaign.

“Alongside the development of its industry-first chat-bot — ‘Reg’ — the campaign is geared towards supporting the profession through a transition period, as the 18th Edition is introduced.”

Further information about the range of training courses available can be found on the company’s web site (www.hager.co.uk/18thEdition).
