Yorkshire-based Croda International plc (
www.croda.com), a specialty chemical company, is to open a world-wide distribution hub in Goole for products made at its bases in Hull and Rawcliffe.
It will join other big names — including Tesco and Guardian Industries — at Goole 36, which is one of Yorkshire’s largest and most high-profile industrial/distribution sites.
Croda Europe president Maarten Heybroek said: “We are delighted at the prospect of securing a site in Goole for this investment, as we are hugely proud of our Yorkshire heritage.
“Our founding Rawcliffe Bridge manufacturing site and our global headquarters at Cowick Hall are both less than 10 miles away.
In line with our on-going commitment to innovation and sustainability, we will use the latest technologies to minimise our environmental impact, and we will offer the most advanced safety features to our people.
“This announcement demonstrates our commitment to UK manufacturing and provides long-term job security for the workers who will move from our existing warehouse at Thorne — and for the new warehouse roles we will create.”
