AM software developer to open Munich officeLondon-based AMFG (www.amfg.ai), a leading provider of work-flow software for additive manufacturing, has announced plans for global expansion with the opening of an office in Munich.

Felix Doerr, the company’s head of R&D and partnerships, said: “The decision to expand our presence into Germany was a logical step in our business growth strategy, as it has long been a hub for industrial additive manufacturing. Having a sales team in Munich will bring us closer to many of the industry’s leading manufacturers and to our existing customer base.”

AMFG, which has its headquarters in London and a sales office in Portugal, offers an end-to-end additive-manufacturing (AM) work-flow software solution spanning project management, production planning and scheduling, post-processing management, and communications tools for suppliers and OEMs.

As part of its plans for expansion, AMFG also plans to accelerate its product development to further enhance its work-flow software capabilities. In January, the company announced that it had received Innovate UK funding to develop its machine learning technology for its AM software platform.

In 2019, we are heavily focused on ensuring that our software solutions remain best-in-class and enable manufacturers to scale their AM facilities. For example, we are working with several machine manufacturers to achieve full machine integration and connectivity.

We are also developing more capabilities for our production management solutions, with the aim of adding more automation to the process. We have quite a few exciting announcements in the pipeline that will bring us closer to achieving our vision of autonomous manufacturing.”
