New Power Milling chuck range

New Power Milling chuck rangeNow available from Alcester-based Seco Tools (UK) Ltd (www.secotools.com) is the company’s new Power Milling chuck range, which has been configured to provide enhanced application flexibility and cost-effectiveness, while allowing machine shops to reduce their tooling inventories.

These chucks offer a run-out accuracy of 5µm at 3xD, while direct clamping technology enables one of them to hold cylindrical plain shanks with diameters of 20mm, 32mm, 0.75in and 1.25in — plus Weldon shank tools with diameters of 20mm and 0.75in.

Furthermore, the use of reduction sleeves enables a single chuck to also accommodate shank diameters in cylindrical plain, Weldon and ‘whistle notch’ tools from 6 to 25mm in diameter and 0.25 to 1.00in in diameter.

The chucks accommodate milling tools for both roughing and finishing operations, as well as tools for drilling and tapping, while a nut and needle-bearing design gives “superior clamping power with minimum tightening force/torque requirements, compared with the steel-to-steel contact on collet chucks”.

Seco’s Power Milling chucks require no additional ancillary equipment such as heating or hydraulic units, and an optional ‘coolant stop’ screw enables them to work with through-tool coolant.

They are available for HSK-A, Seco-Capto, DIN, BT and BT taper-face, and ANSI and ANSI taper-face spindle interfaces.

Each chuck includes a sleeve extractor and a stop screw (with DIN, BT and ANSI interfaces).
