Seco introduces ‘Double Turbo 11’ milling insertSeco Tools has introduced the Double Turbo 11 milling insert — a new development in indexable milling designed for smaller machines and shallow depths of cut. The insert is intended to help manufacturers improve efficiency, extend tool life and maintain high surface quality across a wide range of materials.

The Double Turbo 11 is a square‑shoulder milling solution suitable for face, side and slot milling. Its double‑sided design provides four cutting edges, allowing users to reduce tooling costs without compromising performance. The geometry has been engineered to maintain accuracy and reliability even at lower depths of cut, making it suitable for machining steel, cast iron and superalloys.

Seco has focused on optimising the insert for use on lower‑horsepower machines, with the support face reducing load on the cendtre screw by 25%. This increases durability and lowers the risk of breakage. Practical features such as a centre‑locking screw and clearly marked edges help ensure fast, error‑free insert changes, reducing downtime and improving workflow.

Michael Davies, product manager square shoulder milling, said: “Our goal with the Double Turbo 11 was to give manufacturers a tool that delivers top-tier performance even on smaller machines. By combining robust design with user-friendly features, we’re helping our customers achieve more with less.”

With the Double Turbo 11, Seco aims to provide a dependable, high‑performance milling solution capable of meeting the daily demands of modern machining, supporting manufacturers in maintaining productivity and competitiveness.
