RPI has its best ever Control show

RPI has its best ever Control showBath-based Rotary Precision Instruments Ltd (RPI), which specialises in precision positioning devices for high-accuracy rotary and angular inspection systems, enjoyed its best-ever result at the Control 2019 show in Stuttgart earlier this month.

Jim Palmer, RPI’s sales manager (www.rpiuk.com), said: “I’m pleased to say we had a very busy week at the show.

“Our new-look exhibition space and location drew many new visitors, and we were thrilled to launch the Quad-Profile system, which delivers a brand-new capability into the CMM market.

“We’ve taken away some really interesting new sales leads.”

RPI’s all-new QuadProfile is the smallest and most accurate rotary table for turbine blade inspection on a CMM. With more than 750 CMM rotary tables already in the field, the Quadrant range provides an additional axis for the CMM, to increase its application range and effective measuring volume.

Meanwhile, the RotoScan system is designed to automate the inspection of heavy-duty circular components that have a large diameter; examples include bearings, aerospace castings and rotors.

It uses a robot to automate the inspection of components, using traditional contact metrology techniques to improve the repeatability and reproducibility of the measurements.

Developed with AccuScan software, it also complements RPI’s other assembly platforms (such as iMAP and GeoSpin).
