Blackburn-based MGS Technical Plastics
www.mgsplastics.co.uk has appointed four new team members — and is looking to recruit another two — to meet the demand for its plastic injection moulding and associated manufacturing services.
The recruitment drive follows new contract wins worth a total of £2 million; these include work for a luxury-car manufacturer, a new range of smart meters for an energy company, and a deal with an electronics company, which has switched a major project to MGS to improve the quality of its products.
The new jobs are in both office and shopfloor positions; they take the company’s workforce to 51.
Managing director John Sturgess said: “This has been an incredibly positive year in terms of growth, and we are on track to achieve the ambitious target that we set for 2020.
“With growth, there can often be growing pains; to counteract this, we have invested in new machinery, further staff training and recruitment in order to up-skill our team and increase our capacity.
“This has enabled us to continue to deliver our industry-leading levels of service, while future-proofing for further developments.”
