In 2015, Schuler installed its first mono-block servo press in Scandinavia. The capabilities of the MSD 400 press enabled Swedish automotive supplier Gnotec to expand its business significantly, and Schuler recently installed another servo press at Gnotec — the third in just four years.
Like the original MSD 400 and an MSD 800 that started production in 2017, the new machine — another MSD 800 — comes with both coil line and roll feed to provide a complete forming system.
Schuler (
www.schulergroup.com) says that its servo presses enable manufacturers to program both the stroke height and forming speed, adding that they also offer a significant reduction in energy consumption (at the same output level), as well as a significant increase in die service life.
Based at the Lindholmen Science Park in Gothenburg (the heart of Sweden’s automotive industry), the Gnotec Group is a leading manufacturer of metal components; it has more than 800 employees, as well as production sites in China, Slovakia and the USA.
