Intelligent solutions for tomorrow at EMO Swiss machine tool manufacturer Tornos (www.tornos.com/en) will be showing its production work-flow solutions at EMO 2019, including its Industry 4.0-enabling TISIS software; this is designed to work with all Tornos machines, including the latest addition to the range — the SwissNano 7.

Reliable, precise and ergonomic, the SwissNano range is suitable for machining small components requiring very high precision and is said to offer almost unlimited possibilities, whether for thread whirling, gear hobbing or the use of a high-frequency spindle.

Originally designed to produce practically all the parts of a watch movement, it has also proved popular with the medical and dental sectors.

In direct response to customers’ demands for a compact all-in-one chucker solution to increase their flexibility and the economic feasibility of working with billets, Tornos is debuting its all-new and very compact MultiSwiss 6x32 chucker lathe at EMO.

The goal of this concept is to allow the execution of special shapes and the finishing of parts with precise turning and limited roughing operations.

Along with the SwissNano 7, Tornos will feature solutions that includes the SwissDECO 36 TB — ‘a true stand-out due to its most advanced performance’.

Equipped with three independent tool systems, SwissDECO machines are designed to provide exceptional flexibility.

Tornos will also be among 50 machine tool manufacturers from around the world demonstrating at EMO how umati (universal machine tool interface) makes machine data usable.

Show visitors will experience the benefits of this standardised interface.

Today’s customers expect to be able to integrate new machines into their own IT ecosystems with no difficulty; umati manages this easily, quickly and securely on the basis of an Open Platform Communications (OPC) Unified Architecture (UA) international interoperability standard.

For over two years, a team of machine tool manufacturers has been working with control manufacturer to develop this uniform language for machine tools.

Be seen in all the right places!
