Further expansion underway at Orthoplastics

Further expansion underway at OrthoplasticsLancashire-based Orthoplastics, a world leader in the development and supply of implantable-grade plastics used within the orthopaedic sector, is set to open an additional manufacturing facility in the UK and create up to 100 new jobs.

This is a significant move for the business in a rapidly advancing market — and one that is fully supported by its parent company, US-based Viant Inc.

The new facility will be at the Futures Business Park Development in Rossendale, and it will become a centre of excellence for the business.

Managing director Mark Allen (www.orthoplastics.com) said: “This significant investment underlines our belief that there is huge potential for innovation and growth within the orthopaedic sector.

“It is also the next step towards achieving our ambition of pioneering improved patient outcomes and the longevity of implantable medical devices.

“Joint replacement procedures such as hip and knee surgeries are highly successful, but we are leading the way in the evolution of new concepts to improve these life-changing operations.

“If the orthopaedic sector is to grow and thrive, we must embrace new technologies and materials.

“Our vision and ambition for superior materials solutions perfectly represents how we are putting this strategy into practice with Viant globally.”
