Salford-based Cussons Technology Ltd — a mechanical and engineering firm that specialises in educational technology and manufacturing — has gone into administration with the loss of 40 jobs.
Founded in 1876, (
www.cussons.co.uk) it has been trading from leasehold premises with 54 staff, of whom 40 have been made redundant.
Joint administrator Patrick Lannagan of Mazars LLP said: “The company has experienced cash-flow difficulties. It has a strong skill set in the niche area of marine hydrodynamics, complemented by an established brand name in the educational-technology sector.
"We have had to make a number of redundancies, but we are continuing to trade with the reduced workforce.”
