Cheshire-based Statiflo, a world leader in the design and distribution of static mixers and other process equipment, has fulfilled its largest-ever order for China.
The company (
www.statiflo.com), which has its headquarters in Macclesfield and subsidiaries in the USA and Germany,
has shipped three giant channel mixers to the Bailonggang waste-water treatment plant in Shanghai.
A major expansion project at the plant (the largest of its kind in Asia), is currently underway; this will enable Bailonggang to process more than half of Shanghai’s waste-water.
The bespoke Series 900 STMC channel mixers supplied by Statiflo are 5.8m high x 4.35m wide; they are being used to mix sodium hypochlorite into waste-water for disinfection — a key part of the treatment process.
The order was worth a six-figure sum to Statiflo, and the mixers are among the largest ever designed by the company.
Paul Buck, general sales manager at Statiflo, said: “A delegation from Shanghai Municipal Sewerage Co visited Stonecutters Island in Hong Kong, where we have an installation of channel mixers for the same application.
"They were impressed by our technology and wanted to use the Statiflo Series 900 channel mixers in the expansion of the Bailonggang waste-water treatment plant.
"The equipment will efficiently mix the sodium hypochlorite through the waste-water, achieving the process requirements while also saving chemicals in comparison to dosing without the use of a channel mixer.”
