Customer ‘wish-list’ ideas incorporatedThe latest version of production control software from Bracknell-based PSL Datatrack (www.psldatatrack.com) incorporates 227 customer ‘wish-list’ ideas, and there are now more than 1,300 configuration options.

The update is focused on improved automation, ease/speed of use and management control.

Scheduling efficiency and reporting are also enhanced. PSL’s ‘wish-list’ programme allows customers to submit new ideas, which the company then considers for future releases.

Managing director Geoff Gartland (pictured) said: “The strong focus that PSL Datatrack has on the sub-contract precision engineering industry is a result of the close contact we have with our customer base.

"Many ‘wish-list’ ideas taken on board in the new release focus on automation.

“For example, invoices can now be e-mailed straight from the system, while the addition of a Works Order Generator greatly reduces the time taken to raise multiple works orders from a single customer purchase order.

“There are further time savings to be gained when raising delivery notes on the system and when raising purchase orders for Bills of Material.”

PSL has also tightened management control within the system.

A new ‘pending’ works order status is incorporated, effectively working as a contract review so that supervisors/ management must approve and release a job before it can begin; and in Shop Floor Data Collection, users can now record the quantity of components produced and/or scrapped during setting.

The Scheduler module has seen a number of enhancements; for example, additional works order quantities can be added, with the Scheduler (and material requirements) automatically increased to cater for the extras.

Reporting capabilities have also been extended, while new desk-top/dashboard options can present 57 Key Performance Indicators for quick reference to users with relevant permissions.
