Aston Martin Lagonda receives Royal approvalAston Martin Lagonda recently welcomed HRH The Prince of Wales to its new manufacturing facility at St Athan in South Wales.

The company’s apprentices had the opportunity to tell Prince Charles about the skills and knowledge they have gained during their time at the company, which employs 93 apprentices across three manufacturing sites.

The final step in the production of every Aston Martin is fitting the marque’s iconic winged badge to the car, and Prince Charles applied a badge to a special pre-production DBX.

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Lagonda’s chief creative officer, said: “To have transformed St Athan from a former Ministry of Defence site to a facility fit for a Royal visit makes us all feel extremely proud (www.astonmartinlagonda.com).

"It is well-known that the Prince of Wales is a fan of Aston Martin, so it was a pleasure to be able to show him around the future of the brand.”

The Secretary of State for Wales, Simon Hart, said: “Locating this world-class and globally recognised brand in St Athan is a huge vote of confidence in the Welsh workforce.

"It is an example of how the UK and Welsh governments can work together to secure the investment of companies like Aston Martin Lagonda, driving economic growth and creating jobs.

“I look forward to the first made-in-Wales Aston Martins rolling off the production line later this year.”
