Amaero enters 3-D printing research collaboration The Australian metal additive-manufacturing company Amaero International Ltd (www.amaero.com.au) has established a research agreement with Fletcher Insulation (insulation.com.au) that will see it manufacture and test new tooling production techniques.

Once these techniques have been tested and approved, the two companies will work together to commercialise the opportunities created by this development.

Andrew Rowe, Fletcher Insulation’s national operations manager, said: “Being able to improve the performance of our production processes by applying the greater flexibility in tooling design offered by Amaero’s additive-manufacturing process provides an exciting opportunity for Fletcher Insulation to explore.”

Barrie Finnin, Amaero’s CEO, added: “We are very pleased to have entered this agreement with Fletcher Insulation. In the coming months, we will print tooling that will be tested at full operational load. If this is successful, we expect to win supply agreements for tooling to be manufactured in our Melbourne and Los Angeles facilities.

“The company continues to grow its ‘pipeline and build capability’, and this project is further validation of the successful shift to the manufacture and supply of tooling using additive manufacturing.”
