Tamworth-based
Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has expanded its range of folding tools with a new helical flute Di-Bond folding tool which complements the existing Di-Bond folding tool capable of folding aluminium composite materials up to 5mm thick.
The new helical flute tool has a rigid tool body that enables the user to significantly increase cutting speeds and feeds. Adding to this, the helical flute design removes material from the component more efficiently with a smooth cutting action.
As well as a 10mm diameter with a precision shank diameter of 6mm with a 3mm wide flat, it also has an inclusive angle of 90deg that is precision ground to ensure perfect folding of all components.
The tool has an overall length of 76mm which incorporates a long shank length that provides sufficient clamping area for collets and chucks. Manufactured from a micro-grain solid carbide composition, it is also designed to provide a long tool life.
For manufacturers that require standard or special Di-Bond folding tools, the existing range of straight flute tools is available with either a 90deg or 135deg inclusive angle with a 3mm flat.
The line is available in metric and imperial dimensions and with a team of engineers that are supported by a UK manufacturing facility in Tamworth, ITC can manufacture folding tools to exact specifications.
This service offers customers a choice of alternative angles, varying flat sizes and a choice of shank diameters and lengths to suit their exact requirements.
