Joseph Merritt Group plc, a heavy machinery moving company, has taken delivery of a new fully electric JMG MC-160 pick and carry cabin cruiser crane.
This £250,000 investment will enhance the company’s ability to meet the demands of machinery manufacturers, agents, distributors, and manufacturing companies, and secures its place as the UK’s leading machinery moving specialists.
Director Richard Merritt said: “Over recent months, we have experienced a significant increase in demand for heavy machinery moving services in ‘clean’ industries such as food and pharmaceutical manufacturing where hygiene and cleanliness are of paramount importance. We also expect demand to be high for long-term hire in key sectors such as plastics and rubber, automotive, and machine tools.”
He added: “JMG electric pick and carry cranes are ‘state of the art’ and its unique compact design gives it the ability perform tasks which would otherwise require larger and more expensive lifting equipment, as well the ability to be utilised in congested factory settings.”
The new crane purchase is part of a continuous programme of investment to ensure the company has a modern fleet of vehicles and equipment to safely carry out machinery movement and installation projects for their customers.
Earlier in 2021, Merritts invested £400,000 to purchase a JMG MC-580, a larger version of the MC-160 pick and carry cabin cruiser.
